Cold recycling technology is a process that uses cold recycling machinery to continuously complete milling and crushing at room temperature, including the old pavement structural layer including surface layer and part of base layer, adding recycled materials, mixing, paving, rolling and other operation processes, so as to re form the structural layer with certain bearing capacity.
The cold recycling technology of asphalt pavement greatly strengthens the new overlay or recycling methods, extends the quality of the pavement and extends the service life of the road.
Compared with the traditional maintenance methods of asphalt pavement, the cold in life technology of asphalt pavement can save a lot of asphalt, gravel and other raw materials, save engineering investment, and is conducive to waste treatment and environmental protection. Therefore, it has significant economic and social benefits. With people's attention to environmental protection, social benefits and technological progress, the cold recycling technology of asphalt pavement has attracted more and more attention.
The research on the recycling of asphalt pavement abroad began in the United States in 1915. By the end of 1980s, the amount of recycled asphalt mixture in the United States was almost half of all road asphalt mixtures, and the research on the development of recycling agent, the design of recycled mixture and construction equipment was deepened day by day. The recycling of asphalt pavement is a common practice in the United States. Generally speaking, the performance of asphalt mixture using 15% ~ 25% recycled pavement data (RAP) is very good.
